Legend of Bubai Monk - Bố Đại Hòa Thượng Tân Truyền is a cinematic adaptation of legendary tales and folk stories about the great monk, weaving a mythical narrative about a benevolent monk who leads people towards goodness. Set in the turbulent period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, in Phụng Hóa region of Minh Châu prefecture, Trương Trọng Thiên discovers a baby wrapped in cloth, naming him Khiết Thử. Unbeknownst to many, this baby is actually the incarnation of the Buddha Maitreya. As Khiết Thử grows up and becomes a monk, he is described as short, chubby, always cheerful, and typically dressed in simple cloth with worldly patterns. Using his wisdom, he bravely confronts evil forces and aids those in distress, earning admiration from society.
